About the Book
A great number of linear models in real-life situations occur frequently in finance, economics, chemistry, traffic systems, nutrition, electrical networks, population movement, linear programming, engineering – just to mention a few. In Computer Solution of Linear Systems, the author carefully demonstrates how experts and students of physical and social sciences can use much more approachable procedures in spreadsheet (MS Excel) to solve complicated linear systems without the trauma of having to cram complex concepts in linear algebra and spreadsheet. Nevertheless, previous basic knowledge in matrices and Excel is essential, especially areas that cover formula, name manager, cell range, basic data entry and data editing.
The book has been carefully designed to provide a ‘how to do it’ guide on spreadsheet solution of linear systems. The significance of the book is further explained by its approach to ensure that massive amounts of computations involving linear models can be done with the greatest accuracy, consistency, and in a small space of time and computer memory.
